Missy Warwood

My Story

Missy is a dedicated Support Coordinator, educator, and parent who brings both professional expertise and lived experience to the families she serves. As the mother of a son with Down syndrome, she understands firsthand the importance of strong advocacy and meaningful supports. This journey led her to earn a bachelor’s degree with a dual license in Special Education and Elementary Education, and she has spent years working directly with children with diverse abilities in inclusive, supportive environments.

Missy also serves as a parent representative on the Utah Special Education Advisory Panel, advising state leaders on IDEA implementation, unmet needs, and policy development to ensure family voices are reflected in statewide decision-making. In addition to her education background, she brings a unique perspective from earlier work focused on teaching practical job skills, responsibility, and independence to underserved populations—experience that continues to shape her person-centered, strengths-based approach.

With firsthand experience navigating DSPD and SAS services, Missy is known for her compassionate, knowledgeable, and collaborative style. She is deeply committed to partnering with families, honoring informed choice, and advocating for services that help individuals build fulfilling, meaningful lives.
